MOLOKA'I
Keiki IDs, fire survival demo

Advertiser Staff

The Maui Fire Prevention Bureau will provide free keiki identification cards from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Mitchell Pauole Center in Kaunakakai.

Also present will be the Fire Safety Trailer, which has viewing windows that allow the public to see how fire sprinklers operate in a real home fire.

This is the first time since the trailer was obtained in 2005 that it is being made available outside Maui. It also has a door heated to mimic the temperature of a burning room to teach people how to check a door for heat and find alternative escape routes. The public also can learn how to crawl to safety through a simulated smoke-filled room.
