UC Irvine ousts Warriors from MPSF volleyball tourney

UC Irvine rallied from two games down today to defeat Hawai'i in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men's volleyball quarterfinals at Irvine, Calif.

The scores were 26-30, 27-30, 30-23, 30-22, 15-11.

The third-seeded Anteaters (25-5) will play BYU in the semifinals Thursday at Malibu, Calif. Hawai'i, the sixth seed, finished its season 13-14.

Lauri Hakala had 25 kills and Matt Vanzant 17 for the Warriors. UH's 10-game winning streak was snapped.

BYU defeated Cal State Northridge, 30-26, 30-28, 30-26.
