Trade wind weather likely to hang around

Gusty trade winds will die down a bit today and then pick up a bit later tomorrow as a high pressure system passes by north of the state, according to the National Weather Service.

The high is expected to move far to the northeast as the new week wears on resulting in a decrease in he trade winds once again, forecasters said.

Trade wind weather will prevail throughout the week, with occasional clouds and showers stacking up over windward and mountain areas.Here's a more detailed look at what to expect during the next few days:

Today, sunny. Highs 78 to 84. East winds 10 to 15 mph.

Tonight, mostly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 62 to 74. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Sunday, mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 79 to 85. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Sunday night, mostly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 63 to 74. East winds 15 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Monday, mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 77 to 85. East winds 15 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Monday night, mostly cloudy with isolated showers. Breezy. Lows 64 to 75. Northeast winds 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
