Auto theft suspect charged in abuse case

Advertiser Staff

A 36-year-old 'Ewa man under investigation for auto theft has been charged on an outstanding warrant for abuse of a family member.

The man was arrested Saturday at 6:13 a.m. near the 89-100 block of Farrington Highway on suspicion of auto theft. Police said he was driving a small blue car that was towing a car reported stolen at 5 a.m. the same day.

A man who was steering the stolen car while it was being towed fled the scene.

While booking the suspect for auto theft, police learned he was wanted on a $1,000 misdemeanor family abuse warrant and terroristic threatening of a 26-year-old woman on March 18.
