Big Island police search for missing man

The Hawai'i County Police Department is asking for the public's help in finding a missing 69-year-old Hilo man.

He is identified as Stephen Lamaka Pua, 69, of Kapi'olani Street in Hilo. He is described as Hawaiian, 5-foot-9, about 145 pounds with brown eyes, long gray hair and a dark complexion.

Pua was last seen at an acquaintance's house in the Kaumana area of Hilo during the early morning hours of April 12.

He has a medical condition that requires medication.

Police ask anyone with information to call Det. Robert Hatton of the Criminal Investigations Section at (808) 961-2380 or the police department's nonemergency number at (808) 935-3311.
