Sponsored by the private, nonprofit Honolulu Police Community Foundation, the May 17 event, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., will include a cocktail reception, multicourse dinner and special presentations. Grammy nominee Amy Hanaiali'i Gilliom will be the featured entertainment at the event. The vocalist and songwriter will perform from 8:45 to 9:30 p.m.

The inaugural event is the highlight of Police Week, May 13-17.

Both corporate tables and individual tickets are available, with proceeds earmarked to assist the Honolulu Police Community Foundation in administering scholarships to local high school students and provide the HPD with public safety-related equipment and services. The Honolulu Police Community Foundation was founded in 1997 by former HPD Chief of Police Lee Donohue to provide scholarships for local high school graduates who intend to further their education at a college or university. Since the inception of its scholarship program in 2000, the Foundation has awarded 32 scholarships. In addition, the Foundation also provides funding for equipment purchases for the Honolulu Police Department that could not be obtained through the normal City budget process.
