Local chapter of U.S.-China friendship group to meet

The Beijing Olympics, 2008 "One World One Dream" will be the topic of the next meeting of the U.S.-China Peoples Friendship Association's Honolulu Chapter General Membership Meeting on Sunday.

The China Daily Parvin Fellows, journalists from China Daily and Xinhua, will present a program on the 2008 Olympics. Topics will include the different venues and new structures such as a new stadium called the "bird's nest" where the opening and closing ceremonies will be held.

They will also discuss how the Olympics are being promoted, the mascots and how they were developed, and tips for those who wish to attend, how to plan, how to get reservations, what housing facilities will be available etc.

The meeting will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at Hee Hing Restaurant, 449 Kapahulu Ave. The cost is $15/person. Call: Leonora at 239-9157 or Kathy at 941-3714 to make reservations.
