Sewage spill in Pearl Harbor

Advertiser Staff

About 500 gallons of raw sewage has spilled into Pearl Harbor following a sewer main break, the state Department of Health Clean Water Branch said today.

The department said an 18-foot force main broke at the Merry Point Lift Station. Repairs were ongoing this afternoon.

The department advised contractor and military dive operations to stay out of the area until repairs are completed and bacteria levels return to normal.
