Traffic signals on Nimitz at Sand Island will be out tonight

The traffic signal system at the intersection of Nimitz Highway and Sand Island Access Road will be deactivated between 9:30 p.m. today and 4:30 a.m. tomorrow for signal improvements, the state Department of Transportation said.Police officers will be at the intersection during the work to direct traffic. Drivers are advised to use caution while driving through the area and to allow for extra travel time.
