UH softball's Robinson named WAC Pitcher of the Week

Hawai'i's Kate Robinson was named the Western Athletic Conference's Pitcher of the Week after two victories over No. 25 Fresno State this past weekend.

Robinson previously earned two WAC Hitter of the Week honors, but this was her first pitcher honor this season.

Robinson pitched 12 innings in two complete game efforts, holding Fresno State to three runs on nine hits with three walks, with 12 strike outs. She also went 2 for 4 with a home run and four RBIs as UH won, 18-2, in the first game of the series, shortened to five-innings by the league's 10-run differential rule. Robinson held off Fresno State, 2-1, in the third game of the series.

Robinson has a 1.47 ERA overall and the lowest ERA amongst WAC pitchers at 0.88. She has thrown 14 complete games with eight shutouts and a save.

In 109.1 innings, she has giving up 32 runs on 90 hits with 15 walks and 89 strike outs.

Robinson, a junior, is a Kamehameha Schools alum.

Ashley Frisby of New Mexico State was the WAC Hitter of the Week.

Hawai'i (42-9) closes it out its regular season this weekend with a series at Utah State.
