Wai'anae beachgoer reports stabbing

Police yesterday opened an attempted-murder investigation into a stabbing that occurred Friday afternoon in Wai'anae.

A man, 36, reported being stabbed in the neck by an acquaintance at 1 p.m. Friday while collecting sea shells at a beach. The incident was reported to police yesterday at 1:10 p.m.

No arrests have been made.

Guard reports minor injury while disarming man

A 49-year-old man was arrested for allegedly cutting a security guard in a confrontation yesterday at Straub Clinic & Hospital.

The security guard, 24, had physically restrained the man to prevent him from re-entering the hospital at 1:10 p.m. when the man took out a knife. The guard suffered a minor cut of the thumb while disarming the man.

The suspect was questioned and later released pending further investigation for second-degree assault.

Waikiki man, 30, charged with ID, credit card theft-related counts

A 30-year-old Waikiki man was charged Friday with 10 counts related to identity and credit card theft, as well as being in possession of a stolen moped.

The charges against Michael Lance Weigle of Cleghorn Street, who has nine prior criminal convictions, came out of a traffic violation stop Thursday at 4:50 a.m. on Kapi'olani Boulevard and Wiliwili Street. After pulling Weigle over, police learned that the moped he was operating was stolen.

Weigle was also allegedly in possession of a shopping bag that contained identification and bank-issued credit cards that do not belong to him.

Prosecutors charged him with seven counts of unauthorized possession of confidential information, three counts of credit card theft, and one count of auto theft. His bail is $11,000.

'Ewa man, 36, charged on abuse-related warrant

A 36-year-old 'Ewa man under investigation for auto theft has been charged on an outstanding warrant for abuse of a family member.

The man was arrested yesterday at 6:13 a.m. near the 89-100 block of Farrington Highway on suspicion of auto theft. Police said he was driving a small blue car that was towing a car reported at 5 a.m. the same day. A man who was steering the stolen car while it was being towed fled the scene.

While booking the suspect for auto theft, police learned he was wanted on a $1,000 misdemeanor family abuse warrant and first-degree terroristic threatening of a 26-year-old woman on March 18.

Arrest in connection to forged government checks case

Police are investigating a 21-year-old man who attempted to cash forged government checks at a Wai'alae Avenue bank on two separate days last week. The bank denied cashing the checks last Tuesday and again Thursday.

The man, who has no permanent local address, was arrested Thursday at 4:45 p.m. He was booked on two counts of first-degree forgery.

Man, 30, arrested in tie to sexual assault report

A 30-year-old man was arrested on Kokea Street in Kalihi early Sunday for investigation of sexually assaulting a 27-year-old woman in a van.

The alleged attack was reported Saturday morning at 3 a.m.

The man, who has no permanent address, was arrested at 1:30 a.m. on two counts of first-degree sex assault.
