Advertiser Staff

More than $150,000 was raised to support HIV/AIDS care and prevention services at yesterday's 2007 Starbucks AIDS Walk, held at Kapiolani Park.

In its 16th year, the Walk is the largest AIDS public awareness event in Hawai'i, a Life Foundation news release stated.

Life Foundation provides services to nearly 700 HIV positive men, women and children.

It is estimated that 3,000 people in Hawai'i are living with HIV or AIDS.

This year's walk drew about 1,500 walkers and volunteers.

The top team fundraiser award went to MAC Cosmetics, with top individual walker fundraiser awarded to Leighton Yuen and top High School Team awarded to Radford High.
