Kamehameha Highway on North Shore reopens today

The state will reopen Kamehameha Highway near Waimea Bay this morning to two lanes of traffic, following a rockslide earlier this month. The roadway was contraflowed during the repair work.

Elsewhere:

Work continues near Crouching Lion

Lanes may be closed on Kamehameha Highway between Waiahole Valley Road and Crouching Lion Inn in both directions through Friday from 8:30 a.m. through 3 p.m. for guardrail maintenance. Traffic will be contraflowed in the remaining open lane.

H-1 resurfacing will affect airport traffic

There will be road resurfacing work on H-1 Freeway west-bound airport off-ramp Exit 16 west on Wednesday from 8 to 10 a.m. The right lane of Exit 16 west, leading to the Honolulu International Airport Arrivals Level (ground level), baggage claim lobbies and Aolele Street, will be closed.

West-bound H-1 motorists will be diverted to the Departures Level (second level). Motorists heading for the ground level can go to the end of the Departures Level near Lobby 8 of the Overseas Terminal and use the Pai'ea Street access ramp to enter Aolele Street.

Night work scheduled for Likelike Highway

The Likelike Highway in the Honolulu-bound direction will be closed between Kahekili Highway and Valley View Drive through Friday morning from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for pavement resurfacing and curb and gutter work.

Honolulu-bound motorists are advised to use H-3 Freeway or Pali Highway as alternate routes.

Lanes closed along H-3

Single lanes will be closed on H-3 Freeway in both directions between the Halekou Interchange and Marine Corps Base Hawai'i from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday for pavement striping.

Farrington project continues in Waipahu

Lanes will be closed in both directions on Farrington Highway, from Old Fort Weaver Road to Kamehameha Highway, through Friday for pavement-marking work at these times and locations:

  • West-bound: 7:30 a.m. through 3 p.m.

  • East-bound: 8:30 a.m. through 3 p.m.

    Pu'uloa Road project continues

    Lanes will be closed on Pu'uloa Road between Kamehameha Highway and Salt Lake Boulevard through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Single right-turn lane from Pu'uloa Road to Salt Lake Boulevard for utility line splicing.

  • Single lanes north-bound near Kilihau Street for construction of utility manholes.

  • Shoulder lanes in both directions will be closed.

    Various daytime road work projects planned

    Lanes will be closed through Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., at the following locations:

  • Left lane in both directions on Pali Highway from H-1 Freeway to Vineyard Boulevard for tree relocation work.

  • Left lane in both directions on Pali Highway near Kuakini Street for tree relocation work.

  • Lanes in both directions on Nimitz Highway near Pacific Street for toning and trenching for traffic signal system improvements.

  • Left lanes in both directions on Ala Moana Boulevard from Ward Avenue to Pi'ikoi Street for tree relocation work.

    Pipeline work on Nimitz Highway

    Lanes will be closed on Nimitz Highway in both directions between Kukahi Street and Awa Street between 8:30 p.m. and 3 a.m. through Friday.

    This project will identify inactive petroleum pipelines along Nimitz Highway between Nu'uanu Stream and Kapalama Canal, and drain any oil that may still be in them.

    Nimitz-Ala Moana resurfacing

    Lanes will be closed in both directions on Nimitz Highway from Richards Street to Channel Street from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Friday, for pavement saw-cutting and trenching for the installation of street lighting and traffic signal conduits.

    Kamehameha lanes to be closed near Pearl Harbor

    The right lane will be closed on Kamehameha Highway (out-bound) between Radford Drive and Halawa Drive from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday for bikeway and sidewalk construction.
