National arts endowment gives grants to Hawai'i groups

The National Endowment for the Arts today announced seven grants totaling $786,800 for Hawai'i organizations.The grants included $585,900 for the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, $65,900 for the Pacific Resources for Education and Learning and a total of $90,000 in two grants to the Maui Community Arts & Cultural Center.
Two Pacific territories also received grants, with the Commonwealth Council for Arts & Culture in the Northern Mariana Islands allocated $242,100 and the Guam Council on the Arts and Humanities awarded $240,500.
The NEA announced a total of 951 grants worth more than $67 million for local, state, regional and national arts organizations across the nation.
