Roadwork continues along Kapi'olani

Construction projects on Kapi'olani Boulevard continue to force delays for commuters. If you can take an alternate route, do so or allow yourself a few more minutes to get to your destination while construction continues.

A look at the congestion spots:

  • Morning contraflow lanes ('ewa-bound) will end immediately after the McCully Street intersection, regular traffic lanes will continue 'ewa of the intersection (there will be no contraflow from McCully Street into town)

  • Afternoon contraflow lanes (Koko Head) will not be installed.

    24-Hour lane closures

  • Two lanes on Kapi'olani Boulevard, between Pi'ikoi and Kamake'e streets will be closed 24 hours a day. Sewer bypass lines and pump equipment will be located in the far left lanes in both directions.

    Temporary lane closures

  • Kapi'olani Boulevard at the intersection of Kamake'e Street while night work is being performed between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.

  • Kapi'olani Boulevard at the intersection of Pensacola and Pi'ikoi streets. Through traffic will be allowed in both directions.

  • Kapi'olani Boulevard between Pensacola and Kona Iki streets.

  • Sheridan Street at Kapi'olani Boulevard while night work is being performed between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. Motorists are urged to use Pi'ikoi and Makaloa streets.

    Temporary Lane Closure on Kamake'e Street at the intersections of Auahi, Queen, Kawaiaha'o, Waimanu and Kona streets

  • Through traffic will be allowed in both directions as sewer work continues.
