New Mexico State tops UH-Hilo, 6-4, in baseball

Freshman pitcher Anthony Arrieta went seven innings, giving up two earned runs, as New Mexico State beat Hawaii-Hilo, 6-4, tonight in a non-conference baseball game at Presley Askew Field in Las Cruces, N.M.Arrieta (2-3) gave up seven hits and struck out two.
Jeffrey Germain (1-4) took the loss for the Vulcans, giving up four runs on five hits in 5 1/3 innings.
First baseman A.J. Satele went 2 for 3 for the Vulcans (12-28-1) and drove in a run.
The Aggies improved to 18-24.
The two teams play again Wednesday in the final contest of the two-game series.
