Hawaiian Properties, Metropolitan Management merge

Local property management firm Hawaiian Properties Ltd. said it recently merged with Metropolitan Management Inc., increasing its number of apartments managed and employees.

Hawaiian Properties said it now has 84 employees, including 10 Metropolitan Management employees asked to join the merged company, and manages about 16,000 apartments.

The combined company has consolidated its offices into the main Hawaiian Properties office at 1165 Bethel St., and said it expects a seamless transition for Metropolitan Management clients.

Hawaiian Properties is a subsidiary of National Mortgage and Finance Co., which was founded in Hawai'i in 1929, and manages property including Harbor Court, One Kalakaua and the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii.
