Ala Moana Regional Park will be closed beginning at 10 p.m. today until 3 p.m. Thursday to allow city workers to perform heavy maintenance there.

"This is part of our ongoing program of beefed-up maintenance that we started at Ala Moana last year," City Parks and Recreation Director Lester Chang said in a news release issued yesterday.

The closure was first publicly announced March 23, according to the release.

Chang noted that Ala Moana Park is normally closed to the public nightly from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m.
