LANIKAI
Amy Bruhl remembered

Advertiser Staff

Family, friends and students of Amy Bruhl, a well-loved Lanikai Elementary School teacher who died last year of cancer, will dedicate the Ms. B'Haven reading area at 1:30 p.m. today behind the school's library.

The project transformed an underused site with an old shed into a landscaped retreat with two benches, said Lynda Bruhl Kerwin, Amy Bruhl's sister-in-law. Anita Bruhl wanted a place to remember her daughter-in-law and with volunteers laid tile in the area that will soon have hanging plants and vines.

This year's sixth-graders, Amy Bruhl's last class before she became ill, will create a tile wall for the haven.
