'Iolani tops Pac-Five to open tourney, 15-5

Kela Marciel and Daniel Takami each drove in four runs as 'Iolani defeated Pac-Five, 15-5, yesterday in the first round of the Interscholastic League of Honolulu tournament at Ala Wai Field.

Takami batted 3 for 4, while Case Miyahira, Reyn Nagamine, Grant Iwamoto and Lionel Fujioka had two hits apiece in support of winning pitcher Kelsey Outram for the Raiders (10-3).

Kama Moises, Zack Fujimoto and Jon Ray Rodrigues had two hits each for Pac-Five (0-13).

Lane Nakamura hit a home run and drove in two runs as the Warriors (7-6) beat the Monarchs (5-8) in an ILH tournament first round game.

Ashkhon Kuhaulua, John Worthington, Kapena Gomes and Waylen Sing Chow each had two hits for the Warriors, while Keoni Lum, Les Akeo and Parker McCready had two RBIs each.

Damien's Duncan Ebert had two hits and Dylan Mopas added two RBIs.

Matthew McDaniel fired a five-hitter and the Owls (9-4) broke a 1-all tie by scoring three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to defeat the Crusaders (2-11) in an ILH tournament first-round game.

St. Louis' Kyle Gonzaga batted 3 for 3 with a triple.
