Waterline switch to halt service on parts of Kaua'i

Advertiser Staff

The county Department of Water expects to shut down water service for several hours tomorrow night to Friday morning in the Koloa and Kukui'ula areas, as it switches off an old waterline that will be abandoned.

The schedule is to shut off water from about 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. The work will affect properties along these roads: Lawa'i, Pu'uholo, Maulili, Kaheka, Ho'ona, Amio and Alania.

The Department of Water will be disconnecting the existing 12-inch waterline along Po'ipu Road, which is 40 years old, and connecting a new 16-inch waterline that has recently been installed.
