Bishop Museum gallery to be named for Longs Drugs founder

Advertiser Staff

The Hawaiian Hall gallery at Bishop Museum in Kalihi will be renamed after the founder of Longs Drugs Stores, Joseph M. Long.

The naming is in recognition of a gift from the J.M. Long Foundation, which will go toward the renovation of Hawaiian Hall. The foundation declined to release the amount of the gift.

The gallery serves as the entry foyer into Hawaiian Hall. In recent years, it has showcased contemporary art by Native Hawaiians and indigenous people elsewhere in the Pacific and Americas.
