Polo season starts May 6

Polo season, featuring benefit games, kicks off May 6 with the gates opening at 11 a.m. and matches starting at 2 p.m. at the Mokule'ia Polo Field on Farrington Highway, 3.5 miles past Waialua High & Intermediate School.

Sponsored by Equus Hotel, the games will benefit Keep the North Shore Country. The Saloon Pilots will entertain with bluegrass music following the matches.

Cost is $7; children under 12 are free.

A free soft opening will take place this Sunday at the same time and place, as teams prepare for the season that will include matches with teams from Malaysia, India, Mexico, Chili, Argentina, Italy and Texas.
