University of Hawai'i quarterback Tyler Graunke said an injury to his right hand is expected to keep him from participating in the final three practices of football spring training.
"I'm probably done," said Graunke, who was injured when his throwing hand was struck by defensive tackle Siave Seti during team drills on Monday. Defenders are prohibited from hitting the quarterback during drills.
X-rays Monday night were inconclusive. Graunke underwent a magnetic resonance imaging last night. The MRI results will not be known until today.
"It's a little better than (Monday)," Graunke said of the area between his thumb and index finger. "But it's still pretty fat, and I don't have much movement in my wrist or thumb.
"I hurt my hand before, but never this bad," he added. "It's only bone, so it'll heal. I wouldn't be surprised if something was broken. But I don't think it's very serious."
Graunke is the top backup to Heisman Trophy candidate Colt Brennan.
"The way he went down was uncalled for," Brennan said. "It should have never happened. Somebody got hurt, and it was so easy to avoid. This sucks. But knowing Tyler, even if he had a broken hand, I wouldn't be surprised if he showed up for practice. He's a tough guy."
The Warriors practice today and tomorrow, then end spring training with Saturday's festival at Aloha Stadium. That event begins at 5 p.m.
