No. 1 'Iolani sinks No. 6 Punahou

Jamie Smith scored 20 points and Chanel Hirata added 13 as the top-ranked 'Iolani girls basketball team defeated No. 6 Punahou 49-39 in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu game today.

The host Raiders (9-2) rebounded from a 53-50 loss to No. 4 Kamehameha yesterday.

Melanie Feldman led the Buffanblu (6-4) with nine points

'Iolani 54, Punahou 39

Allison Nojima scored 15 points, Kaz Masutani added 12, and the host Raiders (8-4) used a 16-5 third quarter to defeat the Buffanblu (9-3) in an ILH Division II game.

Brooke Ehrman scored 12 points in the loss.

La Pietra 30, University High 26

Megan Giles scored nine points to lead the Panthers (8-3) past the Junior Rainbows (4-7) in an ILH Division II game at Damien gym.

Ku'ulei Baba led University High with 13 points.

'Oahu Interscholastic Association

No. 9 Radford 40, Leilehua 33

The Rams improved to 11-1 with a win over the host Mules (3-9).

Pearl City 52, Nanakuli 51, OT

Jazmine Pahukoa-Malia made a 15-footer with 5 seconds left in overtime and the host Chargers (8-4) edged the Golden Hawks (3-9) in an OIA Red West game.

The game was tied at 45 at the end of regulation.

Lahela Sylva-Kanagusuku had 11 points and Sasha Montez and Chazmyne Morgan scored 10 each for Nanakuli.

Kailua 49, Kaiser 43

Zsalei Kamaka scored 13 points, Ashley Jacobs made three 3-pointers en route to 12 points and the visiting Surfriders (8-4) took a 35-25 leading into the fourth quarter, then held off the Cougars (3-9) in an OIA White game.

Jessica Dusich scored 21 points in the loss.
