McLachlin shoots 71, WIlson 74 in Byron Nelson golf

Honolulu's Parker McLachlin was six shots behind leader Sean O'Hair in today's first round of the PGA's EDS Byron Nelson Championship in Irving, Texas.

Honolulu's Parker McLachlin shot a 1-over-par 71 today and was six shots behind leader Sean O'Hair in the first round of the PGA's EDS Byron Nelson Championship in Irving, Texas.

McLachlin, playing on the Cottonwood Valley Golf Club, was 2 over at the turn after a birdie on No. 2, a double-bogey on No. 5 and a bogey on No. 9. He birdied Nos. 13 and 17 and bogeyed No. 14.

Kane'ohe's Dean Wilson struggled at the TPC Four Seasons Resort to a 74. His round included a double-bogey and four bogeys, including three in a row to start the back nine.

O'Hair, playing at Cottonwood, had a one-stroke lead over defending champion Brett Wetterich, who shot a 66 at the TPC Four Seasons.
