UH routs Pacific in MPSF water polo tourney, 22-8

Angela Turnbull scored five goals to help fourth-seeded Hawai'i to a 22-8 rout of No. 13 Pacific today in the opening round of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation water polo tournament at Tempe, Ariz.The Rainbow Wahine built a 5-1 lead after the first quarter and led 13-3 at halftime.
Kelly Mason and Lisa Van Raalte each added four goals for Hawai'i (16-8), which faces San Diego State in today's quarterfinals. The No. 5 Aztecs beat No. 12 UC Santa Barbara, 13-11.
Hawai'i goalie Meike De Nooy had 11 saves.
