3.6 earthquake gives Big Island early wake-up call

The U.S. Geological Survey at the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory recorded a 3.6-magnitude earthquake at 5:16 a.m. this morning 3 miles southeast of Pu'u 'O'o Crater.No tsunami warnings were issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center following the quake.
The quake's hypocentral depth was 5 miles below the surface.
