Motorcyclist in serious condition after H-1 accident

A 40-year-old man was transported to The Queen's Medical Center in serious condition this morning after he lost control of his motorcycle and was thrown from it, a Honolulu Emergency Services official said.The accident occurred shortly before 7 on H-1 Freeway in the west-bound direction near Kalaniana'ole Highway. One lane in the west-bound direction is now closed.
The man was wearing a helmet, said Emergency Services spokesman Bryan Cheplic.
