KAHULUI
Rally to push for ride-sharing

Advertiser Staff

Vanpool Hawai'i and the state Department of Transportation will hold a rally from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Queen Ka-'ahumanu Center to inform residents of various ride-sharing options.

Speakers include DOT Director Barry Fukunaga and Deputy Director Brennon Morioka, with entertainment by Jason Sadang and KPOA's Alaka'i.

Those who sign up during the event and qualify to start a vanpool will receive $100 worth of gas.

Morioka said vanpooling could provide some relief to West Maui commuters, who are facing highway construction in an already-congested area.
