Advertiser Staff

The Atlanta Falcons, selecting No. 8 overall in the first round, picked Arkansas defensive end Jamaal Anderson in today's NFL Draft.

A former high school basketball player, Anderson is 6-feet-5 1/2, 285 pounds, with 4.77 speed.

The Falcons were in need of a defensive end after losing former starter Patrick Kearney, who is with another team.

A few years ago, the Falcons had a running back named Jamal Anderson, who led them to a Super Bowl.
