Sunday street closures

Here is a list of city street closures for Sunday:

  • The Hale'iwa Metric Century Ride will start at 7:30 a.m. at Kaiaka Beach Park. Lanes will be closed for the race start only. The 100-kilometer race will continue down Kamehameha Highway toward Swanzy Beach Park, then back to the North Shore Marketplace. About 900 riders are expected to participate in the event. Drivers should be cautious in these areas. The race should end at 2:30 p.m. For more information, call 735-5756 or visit www.hbl.org.

  • Traffic will be diverted starting at 3 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday on Republican Street from Libby to Kalihi streets for setup for the Kalihi Hand Tool Competition, sponsored by Slim's Power Tools. The event will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. More than 1,500 people are expected to participate. For more information, call 841-0902.

  • The I Love Kailua Town Party, sponsored by the Lani-Kailua Outdoor Circle, will close all traffic lanes and sidewalk areas on Kailua Road from Hahani Street to Ku'ulei Road starting at 9 a.m. for setup. The event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., is expected to draw more than 1,500 participants. For more information, call 234-0404.
