UH's Satele goes to Dolphins in draft second round

University of Hawai'i center Samson Satele was picked in the second round of the NFL Draft today by the Miami Dolphins.

Satele, who is 6-feet-3 and 302 pounds, was the 28th pick in the second round and 60th overall.

Satele, a Kailua High alum, was considered one of the top center prospects for this year's draft. He was a four-year starter and a two-time All-Western Athletic Conference first team pick, playing center, left guard and left tackle during his UH career. He was part of an offensive line that helped the Warriors lead in national in several statistical categories, including total offense, passing offense and touchdowns.

He is the son of Alvis Satele, a former Warrior and San Diego Charger, and Lee Ann Pestana, a former UH volleyball player.
