Browns pass on hometown player, select OT Thomas

The Cleveland Browns used their first-round pick, the third overall in the NFL Draft, on Wisconsin left tackle Joe Thomas.

In picking Thomas, the Browns passed on hometown player Brady Quinn, a Dublin, Ohio, native who played quarterback at Notre Dame.

Thomas is 6-feet-6 1/2, 313 pounds with 4.95 speed in the 40.
