Sand Island business Kilgo's closes down

After 61 years, Kilgo's, a Sand Island-based industrial supply house, has closed its doors.

"Kilgo's would like to thank its dedicated employees and loyal customers for their patronage throughout the years," said Kathleen Kaauwai, CEO of A L Kilgo Company, Inc. The employees of the store will receive severance pay and medical benefits, the company said.

The company statemen did not say why the business was closing.

McClain Auctions will be managing the liquidation of all remaining assets in the coming weeks.
