USC tops UH for third in MPSF water polo tournament

Third-seeded USC went out to a 6-1 first quarter lead en route to a 14-7 victory over four-seeded Hawai'i to capture third today in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation women's water polo tournament at Tempe, Ariz.Brittany Hayes led all scorers with a hat trick for USC (20-5). Amy Logan and Lisa van Raalte netted scores for the Rainbow Wahine (17-10).
Meike de Nooy recorded 12 saves in the loss for UH.
