New local television show, "Generation X & Y," has begun airing the first of a series of 12 episodes that address varying societal issues facing the youth of Hawai'i. "Generation X & Y" is designed to inspire a young and diverse generation to speak out, get involved to better understand each other's differences, and aspire for positive change.Today's program, featuring Kamehameha Middle School students, will address the issue of "cliques."
Each "Generation X & Y" episode features two groups of students (X & Y), ages 9-18, from a particular school, discussing opposing opinions on an issue that they have pre-selected. Prior to filming, each group produces a 2.5 minute short film, portraying their stance on their chosen issue. During the actual show, the two groups showcase their videos and discuss their stances, in a 30-minute talk show format.
