Hokule'a has left Okinawa

The voyaging canoe Hokule'a has left Okinawa to begin the final leg of its journey to Japan.The canoe, accompanied by its escort boat Kama Hele, left Okinawa at 8 a.m. Saturday after a week-long visit that included school visits, canoe tours and a sailing workshop.
Crew members reported sailing conditions for their trip north to the main Japanese islands were good. The journey to its next destination, Kumamoto, is expected to take about six days.
