THE MOANA SURFRIDER WESTIN RESORT will open June 1 following extensive renovations and rebranding by Westin Hotels & Resorts. Upgrades include a revitalized lobby with hardwood floors, new furniture and lighting fixtures. All guestrooms will be equipped with Westin's signature bed and bath amenities as well as flat-screen televisions. Upgrades to guestrooms in the historic Banyan Wing are planned for later this year.

The Moana's beachfront spa will open in early 2008 with 14 treatment rooms, including two massage rooms for couples, and a fitness facility. The hotel will continue its historical tours of the hotel and early turn-of-the-century Waikiki. The resort also will offer Westin's Service Express program and a Westin Kids Discovery Club. 716-8109, http://moana-surfrider.com.

THE SHERATON WAIKIKI'S $55 million room renovation has been completed in step with its Discover Aloha Experience. These activities at Starwood's Hawai'i properties include poolside "dive-in" movies and sunset country line dancing, daily cultural classes in the lobby and retail areas featuring products made in Hawai'i. 922-4422.

THE FOUR SEASONS MAUI has completed a $50 million upgrade that included remodeled rooms and bathrooms and the addition of Duo as the hotel's signature restaurant. The hotel is offering a complimentary fifth night on daily rates that start at $570. The offer is valid May 9 to June 30 and Sept. 1 to Dec. 18 (blackout dates: Nov. 17-25). THE ILIKAI HOTEL'S Spring Special Room & Car package begins at $210 per room per night and includes valet parking. (800) 468-3571, www.ilikaihotel.com.

THE HYATT REGENCY MAUI RESORT AND SPA'S kama'aina package starts at $258 for golf/mountain-view accommodations and includes a one-category room upgrade or a Hertz compact rental car for each night at the resort plus discounts off other resort services.

The kama'aina package, available through May 20, entitles guests to 20 percent off the resort's Spa Moana services; the spa was recently ranked fifth among the top 25 hotel spas in Hawai'i by Travel + Leisure magazine. Kama'aina package guests also receive 35 percent off "Drums of the Pacific Lu'au," a live show with entertainment and buffet held nightly at the resort, and 25 percent off at Cascades late-night sushi, the resort's grill and sushi bar.
