Advertiser Staff

A Shriners Hospital patient will use an o'o stick Tuesday to break ground for the $73 million addition to the Honolulu hospital.

The ceremony will happen at the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 1310 Punahou St., and starts at 11:30 a.m., according to a news release.

Kahu William Kaina of Manoa Valley Church will lead a Hawaiian blessing ceremony.

The project, expected to be finished by June 2010, will encompass three two-story buildings totaling 149,000 square feet.
