Public invited to sign up, see taping of 'Aloha Shorts'

Members of the public are invited to sign up for free seating for the next live taping of Hawaii Public Radio's "Aloha Shorts," scheduled in HPR's Atherton Performing Arts Studio on Monday, August 20 at 7:30 p.m. The program is hosted by popular local author Cedric Yamanaka, and that evening, music will be provided by Kupa'aina.

The works and readers scheduled that evening are as follows:

Keith Kashiwada reads three short pieces by David Hyun: "Shoot Marbles;" "I Work Sugarcane Fields;"

and "Lunchtime;"

Charles Timtim reads John Clark's "Over the Fall"" and John Wythe White's "Absent without Leave;"

Ginger Gohier reads Mary Beth Aldosa's "'Au 'A 'Ia;" and some poems by Tracee H. Lee, "Turning Haole;" "Rocks;" "Pidginelle;" and "Dog/Lamb/Bug."

Aloha Shorts is heard on KIPO 89.3 Honolulu every Monday evening from 5 to 5:30 p.m.
