City crews contain 1,200-gallon Pearlridge sewer spill

Advertiser Staff

Plant roots caused a crack in an 8-inch sewer last night near 98-785 Iho Place in Pearlridge, resulting in a leak of about 1,200 gallons, according to a news release issued by city officials this morning.

City crews responded and contained the spill within an hour, and none of the spill entered storm drains or waterways, according to the release.

City officials have notified the state Department of Health, and signs were posted. The situation will be monitored, officials said.
