Advertiser Staff

Boyd Gaming Corp., a gaming company that operates Vacations Hawaii and Las Vegas hotels that are popular with isle residents, reported second quarter net income jumped to $22.9 million, or 26 cents a share. A year earlier they had net income of $12.4 million, or 14 cents a share.

The company said its downtown Las Vegas hotel segment, a group of hotels frequented by Hawai'i residents vacationing in the city, had a solid quarter, but that revenues were slightly off from a year earlier. They generated net revenues of 65 million versus a year earlier's $65.1 million.
