Motorcyclist, 24, critically injured in crash near airport

A 24-year-old man injured in a traffic accident this morning near Honolulu International Airport was transported to The Queen's Medical Center in serious condition. His condition worsened to critical at the hospital, said Bryan Cheplic, department spokesman for Honolulu Emergency Services.

The injured man, who had been riding a motorcycle, collided with a sports utility vehicle in the accident, which occurred shortly before 7 a.m. on Valkenburg Street near North Nimitz Highway.
