Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, whose "Wonderful World" remains the No. 1-selling CD here, will be remembered with a truckers' convoy Saturday morning, motoring from Ke'ehi Lagoon to Makua Bay.

The convoy, organized by Andy Jamila of Waimanalo Construction Coalition, will begin at 7:15 a.m. with a ceremony at Ke'ehi, and will commemorate Bruddah Iz, the Island superstar who died 10 years ago on June 26, 1997. Mayor Mufi Hannemann will present a proclamation honoring the popular singer-'ukulele player widely known for his "Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World" medley.

Participating truckers are asked to arrive by 7 a.m., with the convoy departing at 8 a.m. for Makua, where Kamakawiwoole's remains were scattered at sea.

"N Dis Life ... We All Come Together" is the theme.

Jamila said the event is an "opportunity to come together hand in hand to celebrate the life of Bruddah Iz."
