Child playing with matches started Kalihi fire

A child playing with matches today started a fire at a Kalihi Valley residence, a Honolulu Fire Department spokesman said.No injuries were reported in the 9:30 a.m. fire at 2338 Kalaunu Street, according to HFD spokesman Capt. Frank Johnson. Damages were estimated at $5,000 to the structure and $1,000 to its contents, Johnson said.
