Weather Service issues Hawaii hazard warning in error

The National Weather Service this morning issued a hazard warning in error, according to a news release issued this afternoon by Maui County.The "Radiological Hazard Warning for the State of Hawaii," issued through the Emergency Broadcast System at about 11:30 a.m., should be disregarded, said Mahina Martin, spokeswoman for the Maui mayor's office, in the release.
A follow-up Weather Service advisory has been issued correcting information and advising the public to disregard its earlier warning.
