A federal grand jury today indicted a man for allegedly pirating movies for commercial and private financial gain.

Leonard L. Gomes is accused of infringing copyrighted works by reproducing and distributing motion pictures during a 180-day period from Jan. 1 through May 21 of this year.

The pirated movies are valued at more than $3,500, according to the two-count indictment.
