Okinawan genealogical seminar Saturday

Advertiser Staff

The Okinawan Genealogical Society of Hawai'i will host a seminar Saturday for people of Okinawan descent interested in researching the lives of their ancestors.

The event runs from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Jikoen Temple on School Street.

Society members get in free, but nonmembers will have to pay $25.

The fee covers the costs of refreshments and a step-by-step guide book on researching Okinawan genealogy. Register ahead by calling 591-8584 to ensure you get a seat, or show up at the temple before 8 a.m. Saturday to sign up.
