Two Big Island women charged with attempted murder

Big Island authorities today charged two women in connection with the attempted murder of a woman found alive Friday in a remote forest area in Ka'u.

Jody Lassen, 34, of Hilo and Danolin Souza, 36, of Orchidland were charged with attempted murder, kidnapping, unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle and assault.

The women are being held in lieu of $100,000 each.

Rodney Bohol Sr., also known as Stacey Kealoha Kawaehai, was charged Tuesday with attempted second-degree murder, kidnapping, unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle, promoting a detrimental drug, and four firearm offenses including use of a firearm in the commission of a separate felony.
